The Love of God

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” ~ Romans 8:38-39 ~

A good friend pointed out to me today, in reference to my previous post, that God’s pain might in fact, never end. Oh the pain that I cause Him may end, but He will always feel the pain of those of His creation who have been eternally lost. Even when the earth is made new, and all sin has been eradicated, our omniscient God will still remember.

God is so good, perfect and just. He does not deserve this pain. I don’t deserve to live in a peaceful, happy, pain free, eternal future while He continues to bear pain. This makes me feel very sad, and yet awed and humbled.

God, knowing that one day His creation could choose not to love and obey Him, still chose to create us: knowing that we could cause Him eternal pain and loss. I can’t even begin to grasp that kind of love!

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” ~ Ephesians 3:16-19 ~

Thank You, dear Father, for you matchless, self-sacrificing, unselfish, unending love for all of your creation.
