“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 ~
Notice, that God’s first priority when He returns to take His people home, is to resurrect those who are asleep in Christ. Why?
Because those who are alive, are still in active communion with God, but God misses the communion that He had with those who have fallen asleep.
God is like… “I miss Abraham, my friend; I miss communing with Adam… with David and all the saints of old.”
I wonder…. if I died today… would God miss the communion between Him and me?
