IMET Staff

IMET is a product of merging three dynamic supporting ministries of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, namely, SALT Ministries (Tim Maddocks), R3 Missions (Sebastien Braxton), and LIGHT (Alain Bautista). It endeavors to follow Jesus’ example in reaching people through medical missionary work and evangelism.

In adherence to Holy scripture, Matthew 4:23:

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”

And the counsel of Ellen G. White:

We are not placed in this world merely to care for ourselves, but we are required to aid in this great work of salvation, thus imitating the self-denying, self sacrificing, useful life of Christ. (Testimonies, Volume 1 p. 325)

Our Mission…

IMET training is designed to equip lay workers to become medical missionaries and evangelists – strengthening their knowledge of the Bible, Spirit of Prophecy, health principles, agriculture and practical skills, as well as developing intercultural relationships.

Every true disciple is born into the kingdom of God as a missionary. (Desire of Ages p. 195)

The IMET course…

The IMET curriculum schedule runs 8 months at an exclusive teaching facility on the campus of Wat Preah Yesu Adventist compound, Siem Reap/Angkor Wat Cambodia; with the 9th month being an off-site practical planned to be held in The People’s Republic of China.

Class for this 2015 calendar year starts JULY 20, 2015
Tuition fees inclusive of room and board (dorm and 3 hot meals per day) is currently $1,500 USD in addition to the practical month’s mission trip costs of no more than $500 all inclusive.

IMET’s exotic location…

Renowned as one of the seven Wonders of the World, as well as a top tourist destination internationally, ANGKOR WAT, a UNESCO site, is the legendary back drop for our training center in Cambodia.

Cambodia, a third-world country, is located in the lush tropical region of Southeast Asia with spectacular natural reserves, white sandy beaches and a rich history with vast opportunities to do practical outreach, the people being warm and very hospitable.

The Wat Preah Yesu Adventist compound is a self enclosed 47 acre property consisting of:

Sombua SDA Church
Kantrok Adventist School
Wat Preah Yesu Orphanage
Salt Media (TV studios)
Butterfly Paradise (soon to open)

As well as ponds, lush tropical landscape, gardens, agricultural farms, student dorms, missionary/instructor housing, etc. All in one large location minutes from the legendary Angkor temples and downtown Siem Reap.

All IMET graduates will have further missionary opportunities within our core group of SALT, R3 Missions and LIGHT Ministries, while applying and sharing the following key truths of service to our Lord and Saviour:

“For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”” (Acts 13:47)

“With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world” (“Education”, page 271).

IMET understands that the Lord often calls and sometimes students are unable to raise the funds.  As a result, we have begun the Maddy-Sun Avila Prodigal Child Annual Scholarship.
